Learn about W3tableless.com's and how to test for valid tableless design

By now I’m sure you’ve heard of it. Tables are only for tabular data, use CSS for layouts and design. Easier said then done, as a lot of webmasters were brought up in an era dominated by table-based design and web development. For this reason, the movement was slow to get up off the ground, but now appears to be catching some support with many websites sporting their fancy tableless designs and neat web2.0 feel. Enter W3Tableless.com, the first website of its kind which validates your page for tableless design. This is a huge step forward for the CSS design movement, as web designers can now test to make sure they are table less, or even 100% table less, and then show that they are, in the same way that valid code is respected and coveted.

So far the website has validated almost 6000 web pages that are either tableless or 100% tableless. As you can see this movement is pickup up steam and becoming more popular around the web world, CSS design is here to stay, no sense still using tables. The site also acts as a sort of directory, whereby if you link back to them, they place you in their showcase section, and you are also added to a neat rotating cube link script on the main page that will randomly display your page’s snapshot and link once you are linking back to them. If you are into CSS design, you cannot miss this website, and if you aren’t into CSS design, get into it because you don’t know what you are missing out on by still using tables!
